Hi, I need a new chain so am going to change my sprockets too. I have an Import so am restricted to 185kph which I can reach in 4th gear (and it pisses me off wasting 2 gears!) But seeing as I'm used to being capped on top end, I thought I would increase the acceleration. I'm thinking of running 14/47.
Basically, will I need to remove/add a link? Or can I just use the adjustment on the tensioners?
Cheers

Re: Sprockets and chain length
14/47 is fine with a standard length (110 link) chain. That's exactly what's on my bike at the moment.

Does it make much difference? i.e. does the front end pop up?

Re: Sprockets and chain length
yes it does make a big difference. No you still won't be wheelying on the throttle unless you are riding round cadwell.
In real world riding, my bike is about actually 15mph faster at the top end having been downgeared. I don't ride on roads long enough and straight enough to wind the bike up on original gearing, but I've revved it out in top with the 14/47 sprockets in.
And obviously everywhere else the acceleration's better.

I'm sold, any idea of where to get them for a decent price? Saying that I have recently changed mine so will wait till they wear out first.
