Why did i do it???!!!!
I've always had a thing for classic bikes accept i never had the money or time to invest into one, so i saw a wicked tuned enfield on voodoo bikes a us site and after getting some money for me birthday i bought this about ten minutes ago in the dark from a spitfire pilot who rode down from cambridge in the pissing rain and didn't really want to take it home it's a 96 with 6000km on the clock, and the controls are proper backwards right hand drive 1 up 3 down and i stilll aint seen it in the daylight, well lets see wht tomorrow brings! heres some pics he sent me.

You did it because they're beautiful bikes, if i ever get enough spare money i want to start collecting old bikes, in fact theres a '61 ajs 250 for sale near me on ebay (wish i had the money) looks likes it been reconditioned so nicely.
EDIT: mind if i ask how much you paid for it?

Re: Why did i do it???!!!!
thats not a classic bike, thats a dirty cheap indian copy.
But id love a classic bike to ride tho! Ive got a 1955 James Cadet sat up in my loft at the moment, and had a norton es2 which we sold last year, both need restoring mind. Was looking at some old BSA's the other day funnily enough as we also used to have an old B31 years and years ago.

very true, i know the bloke who tried to get them to understand that making engine components in different factories with different moulds then throwing them together without a torque wrench was a bad idea.. the one he built with matched parts had 50% more power and didnt vibrate ..RedexRobB wrote:thats not a classic bike, thats a dirty cheap indian copy.

Re: Why did i do it???!!!!
Well, took it out today and f**k me the first ten minutes had me shitting myself, the front forks are made of sponge and the front brakes are worse, but once i got used to that it was a bit like an honda xl250 i had when i was 8, yes rob it is an indian built copy BUT iv'e got a hitchcocks parts book and reckon i can build a pretty good cafe racer with at least 50/50 british/indian bit's,it cost me £900 has t&t for a year ,k&n filter, re-jetted,and only done 6000km for my budget it was about as classic as i was gonna get and spares are easier to get than any of me old mans classics (triton, bantam, norton domiracer,gl matchless and some nsu racer iv'e not seen)plus all the advice i need from the old boy.All up i'm pretty happy and have something that won't complian if want to fettle it anytime of the day or night(unlike the missus)
