i think its cuz the line up for this year's glastonbury festival is dire! tumbleweed

the "headline acts" suck .. but i never watch them anyway .. well, cept for bowie in 2000(?) and Oasis in 2004(?) i'll be in the kidz field (some mates of ours run it) or up in the green fields talking to hippies.. which really, is what Glasto is all about.. might venture towards the dance tent.. but maybe not.

first time ive actually bought a ticket and ive been going since 1997(ish) lol ..

infuriatingly no. :smt013

I went in 2000, 2002 and 2004. I've tried to buy tickets every year it's been on since 2000, but haven't managed to get one since 04. I couldn't be bothered with trying this year and sod's law it doesn't sell out - but we've already made other plans for that wknd anyway. :smt011

I would go, irrespective of the headline acts. In the three years I went I probably watched a dozen main stage acts. Each time I've been I saw fewer and fewer bands, and to be honest it's still worth the money if you didn't see any bands and just did other stuff. Unlike Reading et al where there's nothing other than the music.

tbh at most festivles i flick though whos on and will go and see a few big names because i like them but a trace/hardcore/dace ect festivles its always the unknown stuff thats the best.

Its all about sitting out side your tent on a fold fold out chair, hot stale stella in one hand and watching the clouds turn green!

exactly.. went to V one year and was so unimpressed after 3 or 4 glasto's that i just .. left. Lineup was ok, the sound system was utter shite, and there was just no atmosphere.

Last year the sound was proper shagged on the Pyramid Stage, was VERY annoying, you could have a proper conversation in the crowd ffs! Fortunately Chemical Brothers were on the Other Stage where there weren't any sound issues :)
Not going this year as originally lineup sucked but now looks very worthwhile as a lot of the original rumours have signed, John Peel tent was my favourite place for music last year and looking at the event this year it looks like it's gonna be another cracker in there.
We managed to get a half-decent spot for the tent last year, so even though it was pissing it down and a proper mud bath nothing inside the tents actually got dirty if you were careful (even if you aren't quite with it!) and in the end just added to the fun, apart from when it dried for about 6 hours and it was extremely sticky! I'd get tickets this year but have already let someone else in my department at work have the time off for something else.

Hope you have a great time!
