Hey people!

Post by Bowen »

Hi everyone,

Great site - there's loads of info it helped me a lot when it came down to choosing a bike. This is my first bike (what a great place to start!) so everything about it is new to me. I just got back from picking it up (using a VW Transporter) and I'm well chuffed with it, it's the L8 model ('98) and is in green. Got my test in a few weeks, can't wait!

Here's a quick pic, anyone looking at ZXR's on ebay may well recognise this one:

Was a pretty cool day out as I also picked up a VFR400 for my mate so we had 2 bikes in the back!

Anyway, will probably be able to put a few names to faces as I'll do my best to make some of the meets.

Aye, I spotted that one a few weeks back. Looked good, but the price hurt my mind.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome. Have just sorted out my insurance to start on my test day so I better pass!

Vard, can u remember how much the bike was up for? Would be nice to know as I'm guessing I didn't pay it's original price.

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was somewhere in the 1600 bracket. Possibly not even a poor price for it, but it doesn't take much of a price to hurt my mind.

Slight update, passed my test this morning! :D Had the first test of the day at 8.40 and was only out for 31 minutes so must've been doing enough right to get sent back so early! Got 3 minors, one for a left lifesaver, footbrake control and something else - not sure what the footbrake one is all about though as my hillstart was definately up to par. I was proper bad on the bike for the first half of the DAS course but fortunately it came together yesterday afternoon which really settled the nerves and made my confidence sky rocket.

Bike is being stored at a mate's mum's house at the mo, went there earlier to get it out but had trouble as it took 2 of us to get it where it is currently so gave up after about 20 mins, then hayfever kicked in big time so i went home, yet to ride the bloody thing!! Loads of plans this weekend as well lol so I doubt I'll get much chance until next week unless I can sort something out tonight. My old man is dead against bikes so doesn't actually know about any of it yet so will be in a bit of a situation the first time the bike comes home :smt017
