Bike gone

I sold my ZXR yesterday, very reluctantly. It had a few things that need sorting and made some funny engine noises, so probably got rid of it at the right time as. I just put a deposit down on an RGV 250, which I'm hoping to sell on for a small profit, then hopefully get a bigger bike.
I WILL have another zxr before November.

Aye, pics please, fancy one meself! ive not much chance of getting a reverse cylinder tzr so rgv would be ok

you must be sad to see it go. I know i was when i sold my first ZXR.

I sold my ZX7R at the weekend on ebay, being picked up on saturday. Hasnt really hit me yet, i suspect it'll be as its being wheeled into the trailer that ill realise. Not sure if ill get another 7R tho, had a slightly shakey start with it needing some work but other than that its been a solid and fun bike to ride and dont think id get another purely because ill want something newer. But what it does mean is a new era for my 400, im 90% sure that it will get painted this summer now that ive sold the 7R and no where near as much debt as the last two summers, so what i earn at work i can save/put into getting the ZXR done!

RGV's are fast bikes, but are a bit of a liability!

You'll have fun on the RGV!

I found that they have some magical ability in the wet on roundabouts that guesses the EXACT moment that you really don't want the power to kick in, and then dumps everything it's got through the back wheel!

Great fun though, and every time you pin the throttle open those twin cans will take you straight back to dreams of riding a 500cc Moto GP bike... Mmm...

I was glad to get back on my ZXR400 afterwards. But that might have also had something to do with the RGV being a slightly different shape when I had to take it back...

RGV's are awsome fun to ride you'll love it! Make sure you get it on track where it belongs.

Lucky Strike is the only worth while paint job on them.

You'll be getting to know Stan Stephens very well then...

I'm yearning for a stroker again. I miss the crackle of a 2T. The arm pulling surge. The frequent rebuilds.

So easy to work on though - no valves or any nonsense like that. Get some pics up!

there not that bad somthing like 8k top end change. The main problem is if the Power Valve pin failes and drops the blade into the barel..thats an expensive rebuild!

Good thing with it being 2t things like top end changes are as easy are taking your wheels off.

Was very sad to see my 400 go, almost tearfull.
I got the rgv to sell as I rather cheekily know someone who wants one and will pay far more than I have paid for this one(let's hope he doesn't read this site!).
It's a Wolf so has no fairing and seems like a bargain. I'll obviously be using it for a while before selling it on.

Sadly my funds wouldn't stretch to something like that. They go for a small fortune in good nick. Very nice looking machine though.

2 strokes are ace .. my heart still belongs to my old TZR, i could cope with the rebuilds .. its was just a little wearing the frequency with which it got stolen and trashed .. in the end I just left it in the salvage yard as there wasnt enough left to make it worth taking home.

Seems like I don't have a RGV then. Having paid a deposit, they finally delivered it. I wasn't expecting miracles for Â£650, but they hadn't even washed it. The tyres they put on it were from a tractor. Undetered I handed him the money so I could test drive it. It flew, lifted up in first and second, then I tried to turn. It nearly fell over. Back in a straight line it started pulling to the right. I said I didn't want it so they handed me my cash back. I counted my cash, apologizing for not trusting them, it was Â£80 short. "Oh, er, um" said the scrawny little shitbag as his friend(if people like this can have friends)handed Â£80 out of the van window, making excuses and saying it "got mixed up with the other money".
Got my deposit back and now have no bike.
I am really regretting selling mine.
As I got my insurance changed over and had to cancell it again I now have 28 days to get another bike insured in my name or they will cancel it with no refund and no no claims for the year.

p.s. The company was Bikebuster motorcycles/Performance Bike Salvage.
