If that's the case, I'll scrub up my old ones and just replace the seals... God I hope they're in good condition...

Brake Piston kits
I was considering changing the front caliper pistons as I want to restore my bike to as good condition as I can. But are they really £18 per piston/seal kit!?

Re: Brake Piston kits
yeh, nuts innit.. costs more to refurbish zxr calipers than replace them with good second-hand or gixxer 6 pots.

Re: Brake Piston kits
me and baz rebuilt my 6pots.
approx £3 per seal, 2 x 6pots with 2 seals per pot = 24 seals = £72!!!
this expense is something you will have to grim and bear, unless some of the seals look ok. generally the fluid seals may b good, but the dust seals are so flimsy that all mine were replaced.
in regards to the pistons themselves, several of mine looked like the exterior of an abused chip pan. but baz cleaned them up a treat with his dremel, so try that
also while u have the dremel out i suggest cleaning the grooves where the dust seals sit so they seat correctly.

Jesus they are perfect! Hopefully mine will scrub up that well.
What did you use to clean them? I'm a bit worried about deforming the surface and inviting leaks.
