Suzuki gt250x7

Post by shakey »

Me and a mate just baught one of these witht the plan to rebuilding it and putting on the twin microns clipons etc and having a fun 2 stroke cafe racer.

It's generally tidy but it doesnt have a spark. Obviously the electics are very simple and all the wireing has been chaecked and it's in good condition. This leads me to think that its part problem.

Is there any way of testing the Coil to see if its working? Or doesanyone have any sugestions?

you can usually test the ohm resistance with a multimeter but you will need the manual for it to tell you what you are looking for and how to test it,
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

up to a point a coil's a coil, try one of the zxr's ones on there .. if it gets a spark then that's what the problem was.

Does it have points? I had a gt250, not the x7 and mine wasn't sparking due to the points. Great bikes.
