petrol in the crank case breather

i have taken the crank case breather pipe off the air box on my h1, and i have found that there is a really strong smell of fuel, and a little bit of fuel dribbeling out?
do i need to service my carbs and needle, as the rubbers are knackered, and fuelling too much?
any ideas would be brilliant

its probably the float valve's or the o-rings round the float valve seats (brass bit) ...

strip carbs time im afraid, it'll get worse relatively quickly once it's started, and the excess fuel can cause premature piston/cylinder wear as it washes all the oil off them.

i've had this twice, and its been the o-rings both times, which is a lot cheaper than worn float valve things.

through wemoto i have found a carb gasket and float kit, is this what i will need?
would this lead to hot start problems as too much fuel is going down?

doesnt say if its a full set or just one carb though .. and at £15 a carb thats expensive.. i'd just order the o-rings from cradley, be a few quid at most i'd have thought.

i have replaced the o-rings on the metal cylinder that the needle goes inside. this seems to have made the bike much much better. are there any other things like this you would avise checking as the bike is 20 years old, and i have had torelace most rubbers.
also
the choke cable doesnt pull the choke very far out, and the choke seems to be slightly out all the time , but if it is in, the cable wont pull the choke on?

lube up the runner for the choke, and make sure there is slack in the cable when the choke is off (there's an adjuster on it), wouldnt worry too much about not getting FULL choke, you shouldnt ever need it anyway, but if the choke is sticking on the bike wont be running quite right.

as long as the little "hooks" on the arm arent holding the choke plungers open its fine.

cheers mate. i think i have too much tension in the cable. will sort that out today. apart from that its been running great and has stopped it overheating...... and hot start problems.

plus did a track day on the bike. which was wicked

if you havent got the right cable and switch gear (there's a few variants and they all look the same) then its impossible to get any slack.. i get round this by "modifying" the bracket that holds the cable to the carbs with some hefty pliers

how do you up load. it was donington and wow it was amazing. the best thing ever. I DID A BRAND NEW GSXR &%) through the esses. it was brilliant, down the straight, he hit the brakes, thenI passed a nc30 and him, on the brakes, and tucked it round. i love my bike show me how to up load and ill put them all on

yeah it is jason, im his best man at his wedding, hence the track day. panned his ass lol!!! and the rc8 was ok, not a zxr though!!

RC8's make me go a bit wibbly tbh .. not many modern bike's will do that, maybe the new R6... now if they made a small-bore 4 cylinder version of the RC.......
