At last, my new ZXR400

Post by CarneyUK »

I have now got my new ZXR400. I couldn't wait any longer and save the money.

It's an L1 with 33,000 miles on the clock and in good condition for it's age. The good bit 's on the bike are it already has braided hoses and almost new disks. The bike is generally in good condition overall with hardly any rust. Any rust there is I will get rid of anyway. The bike is a UK bike and the engine sounds sweet. It has the usual clutch rattle but when you pull the clutch in it has no other knocks or rattles. This one also has Micron pipe that hasn't got a dent in it :smt003

It has Dunlop D204's on it with loads of tread left and some chicken strips I need to get rid of!! Not sure what the 204's will be like?

The bad bit's, the bike is going into the garage to get the carbs done again as they are letting in air ( in the wrong places :smt003 ) and causing the bike to run like a bag of toad. I noticed it a bit on the test ride but as all else was good wasn't too bothered. Also need to get some new wing mirros, which are already on order from Ebay and a new seat as she took the padding out to touch the floor.

Swapsies?
:smt003

I've had a bit of a play with the pipe on your old one, replaced the baffling, sounds really smooth and sweet now.
Also have to admit I had a run up and down the road with no pipe on.
Holf yuck!

Am actuall thinking when I get it resprayed to get it done completely original colours.

I now have the wing mirrors, new seat, new valve caps (yeah, I got the Kawasaki ones which will no doubt be nicked first time I leave the bike in town!!) and once I finish my skydiving course then I will get the bike into Nicks to get the carbs done. Should be on the road by the 1st Oct.........Great, just ready for winter. :smt010
