I dont think anyone can really justify in any way that you can use a liquid one. They are really only good for engine cases and the like. A new head gasket is 20 quid, M&P do liquid gasket for 10. If i were you i really would pay out the extra ten :smt002

Just realised, have you gotten mixed up with leaving the base gasket out and using sealant instead? That works, but not for the head gasket.

your probly talking about the rocker cover gasket but even so i would still get a gasket dont put sealent on the block face you will have no compression.

It is impossible to use liquid gasket for the rocker cover................................there are 4 half moon shaped cut outs in the top of the cylinder head there is just no way to fill those with liquid gasket.

I think he means the metal 'base gasket'. As I believe cargo and zimm told me in my other thread that you could leave this out and use sealent which would add more compression!
