removing oem decals

removing oem decals
anyone got any tips for removing the original decals? i hear a hot air paint stripper is good?

It depends whether they are laquered over or not.
If they are laquered over you will have to rub down the laquer first then peel of the stickers.
If not, a hairdrier is good

not laquered over only the zxr on the tank is, will pinch the missus hairdrier then.

I've taken decals off (off a truck rather than a bike, but similar thing I suspect), with a hairdryer. Probably lower temp than paint stripper thing, but it worked great. Found that less was more, so if you keep the heat on an area for 5 seconds (literally count to 5), then they come off great. But if you keep it on for 10, they become too sticky and some of the paint stays behind and they tear more easily.
