flipping eck never herd of someone snapping the conrod on the 400 before, good effort!

Jesus abit of damage u done there mate.
If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

got any idea where the initial was? or what caused it? poor lubrication?

The bearing one was from lack of lubrication to that big end.
The engine was then rebuilt and.....
the conrod gave up just 9 hours of use after. It wiped out 4 stainless valves and a cylinder barrel as well. Just a bit of bad luck really
latest engine build has held out so far. (this is not a road bike, the engine is'nt standard so stuff can go wrong a little more often with expensive consequences)
