Nice one mate, not been on holiday in a long time, can never get the time off work when the rest of the family go away.

If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

Re: Snow!
If snow was a great start to the week, I'll show you what counteracts it as a poor end.
I'll be taking photos tomorrow, when I've got better light.
Was on the way home tonight from work, Mother was driving me back from Hungerford along the A4. About six miles out from home, the back let go, and she let it go for a moment to see if it would nudge back in, as it had done a couple of times. Kept going, so opposite locked it, and all the way across the road we went, hit the bank and rolled.
Dashboard controls are harder to find when you're standing on the ceiling of the car in the dark, trying to work out where they all are, as, equally, are someone else's seatbelt clasps.
So now the entire house is immobile. Wonderful, now none of us is getting paid.

Re: Snow!
It was a 2001 Subaru Forester, and yes, it's written off.
I didn't think it was so bad immediately after, but after a few days, when we'd got it home and brushed the snow off it, it turned out the roof was caved in where the bars run along the top, and the windscreen was leaking, and there was an oil leak.
Overall, it didn't stand up too badly to rolling, only one miniscule crack in the windscreen, all other glass intact, engine fine, chassis fine, it started and drove.
Atm, we're borrowing my older brother's 2001 Legacy, which is doing us ok, and he's offered it to mum for £300, so we might well be ok.
Thanks for comments, guys.
