WHat you reakon they worth with 50k ( kph ) new tyres, good condition, only few mots from 2005? only insured it for £1000 but got a £200 excess. SO only be offered 800 max? you think they'lle even offer me the 800?
If you've said £1000 value, then they most likely will give you the £800. I believe that this SHOULD go on book price, whatever you say it's worth, but I'm not entirely sure. The value of the bike does affect the premium on some policies, but I'd say it's worth badgering them for book price if it is more than what they offer. :smt002

Also bear in mind that you are fully entitled to bank and cash that £800 and still push for more off them for a full settlement.

I was stupid and settled for the value of my stolen bike - which meant I couldn't even afford to get another bike with it. My totalled VFR they offered me £500 more than I paid for it so I didn't question it. My totalled ZX9R seemed to match with what I'd said it was worth so I accepted.
Who needs tyres when you've got knees!!

I was looking at the 'glass' guide t'other day at work (bike shop) and i have a horrible feeling that buy in price for an H1 was 500 odd pounds so sell on price wont be much more than that say around 800. So if they offer you the 1000 minus the excess it'll be around the right price.
I may be wrong and if i remember ill check tomorrow.

Bad luck on having it stollen, ive had a bike taken before and it pissed me right off because it was my transport. It was found a week later covered in mud so had been taken purely for a joyride.
yeah ive seen that, says if its within 500m of the insured poperty. luckily its 15 miles away lol

have you got any pictures proving that the bike was in good condition? And have you got the receipt for the bike?

When my other half wrote his bike off, we got a valuation from the BMW dealer which helped with a decent settlement

start gathering information on bikes for sale that are of a similar age and condition. Don't use ebay or forums because they always go cheaper on there.
Look on Bike trader etc.

When my other halfs bike was (under) valued, we used a valuation from the dealer, and similar bikes for sale on the internet.
Glasses guide valuation was considerably less than his payout ended up being

I spoke to the company issuing the payout, and I was told that they were searching the internet for prices for a "replacement vehicle". Ie one of similar mileage, same age, same model. So if you have the information to hand, it'll make arguing with them a lot easier! It'll also give you a good idea of what it is worth.

u know aint it strange, i sell houses and most ppl change the locks of their new house when they move in. how come ppl dont do the same with vehicles?

well i never think of it either tbh.

sounds like a plan now though. Im also parking it back in the drive and blocking the exit by parking the cav across the garden on the piss. So then they either have to lift it over a cav gsi, or push it through a might thick fence.

But now i have it back, ill be digging a two foot hole on the ground slappin in some cement and a bloody thick ubend pipe or sumit and chain the barsted up to buggery. How cheap are alarms for bikes?

thats a bonus isnt it. Im guessing th steering lock wasnt on when it was stolen? Could just be that they lifted it away as it was?

it could of been, im not sure.

Thing thats really threw me is that the people who's sace its in, next to there house, said they put it there sat night early hours sunday morning, which means it wasnt there sunday and i only noticed monday morning.

Thats scary.

Went to pick it up, its flat as ars. No lights with ignition on, people who's space it was let me put in their back garden so the police can finger print it. Altho i thikn if they rode it would of had gloves on anyway.

People said they heard it coast into the space, not revving it but definatly running.

My only fear is that when there were no lights from ignition that they might of took the battery out to charge it so its starts better when they go back to it. But then again on the other hand its been sat there since sunday. SO maybe not
