Personally I want the 2007 model in orange :smt003
I'm going to need a few years no claims under my belt first though the insurance is insane!

Go for the 6R!

Have been to the local bike shop and sat on this. It is actually a better height and feels more comfortable. At the moment all plans are to get this.

So maybe even the 6R is not going to happen!!

The trouble with having an open mind, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

I've been back today to sort out finace options on the ZX10R, have sorted out 2 new tyres and a seat shave within the price. All I gotta do is get £600 deposit and it's a go.

The ZXR400 will be up for sale soon and as long as I get £600 for it, I will sell it. Just a couple more finance things to sort. Fingers crossed all goes well.

i was gonna get a zx10r, mean looking bikes

but decided to keep my 7r as i love the fact u hardly ever see them and that i feel a zx10 would b wasted on the road

but congrats on the new bike mate!

take it easy, know a bloke who smashed himself to pieces on his zx10 and he could ride! bit of a step up from a 400

I just popped out from work to grab some lunch... as I was pulling off teh work carpark I waited for a ZX6R to scream past looking like he was in a right old hurry. I followed him around the island as he was reaching with his knee, then he was flat against the tank as he shreiked up the dual carriageway.

I could actually see him nearly jump off the bike when he looked up to find me sat RIGHT behind him - and he actually pulled over and slowed down lol! :pmsl

I bet is does. I'll be riding like Miss Daisy for the first 6 months :smt003

Was looking at the specs for the 10R aswell. Not that I will ever get anywhere near it, but it was 0 - 60 in 1.8 secs, 1/4 mile in just under 10 secs to 144mph and it will do 100mph in first gear .....WTF!! what about the other 5.

I know this bike is gonna scare the toad outta me, but I think that is what I want. As for not being as nervous as the 6R, I think the nerves are more about dropping it at the lights (money, time off road fixing etc etc) ..... 10R is lower so less chance and the fact I needed a lowering kit on the 6R which messes about with the suspension.

As Jamz said ( I think it was Jamz) after a couple of years I'd get used to a 6R and just want a 10R anyway. :excited

I have owned a 1000cc bike for the last 7 or 8 years and personally I think they are easier to ride than smaller bikes.
The main thing that you will have to watch out for is coming out of bends and giving it too much throttle too quickly.
Where you can get away with it on smaller engined bikes , a big bike will spin out much faster... but you will get used to it very quickly.

I saw the 6R and the 10R next to each other tonight and the 10 looked to be about 2 inches lower than the 6.

Good luck and enjoy it.
