Re: OH BOLLOX!!
bad one dude.
Before you buy them bits you need, check that frame! is it dinted just behind the headstock? We had one and bent the headstock out of line with not much of an impact. fingers crossed

I get on realy well with the lads at my local Honda centre and they've said they will have a look, make sure it's straight, so fingers crossed all is ok, if not, just meens i'll scout round for a 400 again!!
From what my mate has said looks like the dint is lower down, think the clip-on has caught it.

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
Is the car not gonna claim against you anyway?
If you're fully comp you might as well get it fixed on the insurance by a proper bike place and there's always the chance your insurance will fight for a 50/50 fault split. And you might get a nice courtesy bike too...
Whether you claim on your own insurance or someone else makes a claim against your insurance, it's still on your record.
And this is what insurance is for. Paying to fix broken things.

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
Well, went and gave a statement today and i got cautioned for driving without due care and attention.
So, depending on what gets decided, either got to go to court or do a 1 day course that will cost me about £160.
I think i'm just gona claim on insurance, hope bike gets written off, buy it back and track the toad outa it!!

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
Jesus, that's harsh. And as if a fine's necessary? I'm pretty sure the being-thrown-over-a-car bit will stick in your mind more than a fine.
Hopefully the bike's ok. Mine looked similar, but once I stripped the fairing off it was actually ok. I know the plastics aren't cheap but...
Anyway, worst part now is going to be sitting through this weather with no bike!

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
Just some backup infor for you:
Legally, they can't sack you unless it says in your letter (which should be giving you 7 days notice of the disciplinary meeting which could lead to your dismissal) that it's gross misconduct and and you may be consdered for "summary dismissal". (means the sack.)
If however, you already have 1 verbal warning, 1 first formal written warning AND 1 final written warning FOR THE SAME THING Then they can sack you.
If these aren't followed, let me know and I'll advise you further.
If you need any employment advice, just ask me, I'm all into HR and sheeeeet. I hate sacking people and I see my boss trying to sack guys all the time for no apparent reason other than he's having a bad day. On the other hand, the lazy shite that couldn't make it to work on time every day for 3 months deserved to be sacked.

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
Thanx very much for advice. Think ive had a warning before, but can't remeber how severe it was.
There putting down to poor workmanship, but i know for 100% that it wasn't my fault, i just can't prove it and the my manager doesn't seem to like me or believe what i say anyway.
I'm off on the sick at the minute, so am i right in thinking that i don't have to go to a meeting untill i am back at work??

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
what is it that you do?
I suspect workmanship in that you build something, in which case isnt there a quality control person to make sure everything is ok before its sent out?

Re: OH BOLLOX!!
I'm a mechanic.
I serviced a car and swapped the wheels front to back as requested by the customer and when i refitted i torqued the wheel bolts up, as i always do.
The guy rung up after he had picked the car up, saying something wasn't right, we told him to go to our other dealership in Telford (as he was closer to them at the time), he said he hadn't got time and carried on.
Abit further up the motorway, he said he had to pull over as the car was undriveable, the n/s/f wheel had come loose.
So, obviously this guy looses his nut and starts kicking off etc etc.
I no for 100% that i torqued the wheels up, you don't spend over £300 on a torque wrench and not use it!! I also cleaned the wheels and hubs and lubricated with copper grease as you quite often you get corosion build up between wheels and hubs if they've not been removed in a while. I think the o/s/f wheel started to come to loose, but not to the same degree as the n/s, both back wheels were fine.
I no i torqued the wheels bolts properly and also roadtested the vehicle after carrying out the work and found no issues with it.
Like i said, i can't prove any of this, so they have to take my word for it, which when i explained to my manager, you could almost see the monkey banging 2 symbols together in his head.
