Buying a ZXR
Hi, I'm viewing an "L" Reg ZXR400 L5 on Monday, its got a flat battery so that will need replacing but the guy is gonna start it with jump leads to show it does run etc, is there anything i need to look for when potentially buying this bike, any common faults etc? All help will be appreciated.

Any particular reason the battery is flat? Might be worth taking a voltmeter to see whats its charging at juat to rule out theres a problem with the charging circuit.

Thanks for that link.
I think the battery is flat as he hasnt ridden it much as hes changed his mind about doing his license and wants a 125 instead. And thanks for the tip, il see if my uncle has one.

Depending on how long it has bene left with the battery flat, a new battery might well be a prudent move. Not particularly expensive either, being how small they are.
If you do get a new battery, remember to save the bolts and rectangular held nuts from the original one before you junk it - I forgot to and the only way I could think of doing it in the short term was to buy some roofing bolts, with the square nuts, for mine.
