Anyone Else For Donington (Tues 18th Aug)

Post by Jamz »

Well, here we bloody go! I've booked my first track day on the GP circuit with a ZX636 B1H! :excited

Is anyone else up for a day on track? It's with No Limits and costs £169.

No.... although, the way I see it, if I've paid for the track and a separate hire bike, I don't think there'll be anything to stop me doing a few laps on my 9 if I want to? :smt017

They charge for additional riders on one bike, but I can't see anything about anyone wanting to ride more than one bike...

As long as your 9 passes scrutineering first thing in the morning, no problems. When we took a van on our track day with 4 bikes, but 3 riders, we were all allowed to switch bikes with each other. It was the armband that showed novice, etc that was important.

It's worth a think about, you know. I'm due some holiday, and there's a nice B & B I stayed in before... I'll have a looksiee. Did you use LadySnoots track hire for the bike?

I'd have to drive up previous day and then home after though. Long way from home for me.
But I love donington.

Yep - booked with Mike from Lady Snoots! If you're going to hire one mention me and we'll try and get a discount! :smt002

Alas, for the cost of hiring a bike and getting all the way up there and a B & B, I could fly out to rimini and hang out in the Rossi fan club for a week.

Both are very tempting, but neither are financially viable - Did anyone else know how much getting a puppy ACTUALLY costs in the first month?
I could have bought another bike!!

I did it, didn't embarrass myself, and got my full £250 deposit back! :excited

It was nowhere near as scary as I expected it to be, and definitely a great day and worth every penny! Come to think of it I need to add something to the 'Learning Tracks From Computer Games' thread...

There was a ZXR400 track bike there, too - think the name on the leathers was Hill or something? Anyone from here?

I don't think I learnt anything useful for my road riding, but I can see how valuable a track day would be to somone who doesn't have that much confidence in the corners. It seriously is only as intimidating as you want to make it.

Who's for the next one?? :excited
