I'm looking at doing some mods to the bike over the winter and have been reading some of the topics regarding 6 pot conversions. Quite fancy doing this to mine, so to those that have done this conversion, what are your views on it? Seems either realy good or realy poo from what i've read. A friend had a zxr750 with k1 gixxer thou calipers and said they were the best brakes ever, even better than his zx10 (which has radial calipers [from a fireblade] and Brembo master cylinder). If anyone tell me experiences (good/bad) i would be most grateful.
Cheers

Re: 6 pots
I've got my first ever 6-pots on my 9r and have to say they're easily good enough to stand the bike on it's nose using one finger!
Having said that, all the 4's I've used have done the job.
I suspect it might be a bit like a lot of these mods - they'd only make a big difference on a race track if you were really good...

Re: 6 pots
Not being one for mixing up my pots,
I noticed a HUGE difference in braking when I changed from standard brake lines to stainless braided hoses...

Re: 6 pots
Tokico 6 pots came standard on my ZRX400 and as luck would have it the mounting pitch was same as the ZXR so were a direct swap
Need more maintenance to keep in peek condition than 4 pots but once set-up they are one finger braking - they wouldn't fit them on the world's fastest production bike with out reason.
However, I just picked up a set of Nissin 4 pots that will rival Brembo racing 4 pots and are certainly going to be better than their "goldline" callipers
Require a little bit of work to make fit but will be worth it - thread to follow when I over haul and do the additional work to them.
They have Gold nitrate pistons in them
MM!

Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !
