Shipping cost to US?

Post by nc73 »

Anyone know how much it costs to ship my zxr to the states? I'm planning on moving back soon. Might just sell it since it's worth less than 1k. Just don't find too many zxr400 in the states.

If you break it down and ship it as parts, you wont get charged for importing bike to the US (no matter the age) but if it's all in one piece, you pay a fee at the other end?

But yeah, if it;s only worth £1k, you should probably sell it here...

My friend's mum took her mazda MX5 over to vermont when they moved out there.
then to come abck 4 years later, she had to pay it all in the uk again. It would have been cheaper to buy a car out there and then sell it and get a new one here!

Also found out the VIN is one digit longer in the states, won't be easy getting it titled. Definitely selling it!

title shouldnt be an issue, the vin is stamped by the factory, it is what it is...

if you have to, pre-fix it with a zero... its what the classic car bods do.

was the zxr400 ever even officially sold in the states ? thought it was fzr400's only over there ? least thats what i remember from chatting to the girl who thrashed my zxr round cadwell... she raced an fzr400-1wg(?) back in the states purely because it was all she was allowed to race .. it being the only non grey-import ... or something ...

So far as I've been able to figure the ZXR400 was never officially imported to the US

Titling it may or may not be easy. What year is it? 1993 and older you are good to go. 1994 and newer you are screwed and may have to pay more than it is worth, as there is some wacky displacement rule. I found this place.

Hopefully the NC in you name means North Carolina. I need spare parts!

NC is my initial. It is SOLD. First person came to see it bought. I thought it was a steal at 900.
