I'd recommend Dynotech in Basingstoke, they know more about ZXR400 than most. Tel 01256 881711

im taking the plunge and getting the bike dyno'd at the weekend, well atleast a power run and maybe take it back to have some setup done.
i found a place in portsmouth called 'two wheel tuning' they seem pretty helpful and know what there talking about, ill post some results over the weekend.

Hi not quite in portsmouth but Dynomite Performance are in Bournemouth They do my Mots If you fancy a ride out
Obviously make sure the general condition of your bike ie oil plugs air filter are in good nick as dyno runs put a fair bit of strain on a bike these in good condition can also make the bike run better generaly on there own

ye the bike is all serviced ok, had the run this morning bike is making 57.54 bhp 24.16 lbs/ft torque but no where near setup properly running way way too rich down low alrite at the top end of the revs.
if anyone is going to the nec next month they have got a stand up there.
i would recommend two wheel tuning as they were really helpful and do setup for race bikes and seem to know what they are on about.

it had dynojet needles fitted before i got it an obviously not setup properly, so they say it needed a jet kit including....pilot and main jets, and new slider springs and then adjusting as neccasary.
they say it will cost about £200 to have the kit and setup properly, which is quite alot of money but if i wont it running right thats the only way i guess.....
ye bit strange watching someone thrash it but no worse then what i have done......the sound of them when they are full chat is awsome and when they let off was popping flames and that haha.
cost me £25 for the run which isnt bad i dont think.

well the carbs already have the dynojet needles fitted so im not exactly sure what the kit includes i need to find out before i take it down there, but ye seemed an ok price as long as its all good afterwards.they seem really helpful down there dont think they have been running long so are just starting out and getting a rep i think thats why they have got a stand at the nec.they seem to know what they are on about though but proof will be in how the bike runs after they work on it.
will let everyone no the new dyno results.

just an update, got the bike back yesterday and im very pleased with the result, they fitted new pilots, mains, different needles and changed the emulsion tubes for ones i had spare.it hasnt really gained any bhp or torque only a very small amount but the power curve is so much smoother now.they told me the needles i had wherent dyno jet ones they dont no what they were for.
had a quick ride out today and it picks up much smoother and revs so much 'crisper'. all in cost me £250 including the first power run so not bad i think.
