Snowing but Pikeys still out and about
Almost a year since the last attempted breakin to the garage. This time they broke into the Race van and the trailer. Nothing worth stealing in either just a load of mashed up and broken locks. Scum never sleeps it seems - even when there us a foot of snow on the ground.

Low life scum.........................been there mate and got the t shirt.
When they got into my garage they stole a 4 month old bike.....................and sprayed the brake discs on my girls bike with chain lube. Sheer luck caused me to look out the window as she got her bike out to go to work and I realised my bike was gone otherwise she would have been away on her bike with no brakes.
16 years later and I'm still paranoid about locking up................. and I hate leaving the house with no one in

I'm all for drilling holes in bike thieves knee caps and breaking a few digits but that deserves amputation :smt013
BTW, that was a personal attack and some one you or your girl know !
Tea leafs aren't interested in revenge or retribution - get the goods and go.
Some one breaks into your house and shits on your carpet , you know them or they know of you - know two ways about it.
But still, that does deserve permanent life long disablement
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

Re: Snowing but Pikeys still out and about
I do have an inkling as to who it was..........................but no real proof............... and yes he did/does know me.
He left to live in Germany shortly after the break in.
Wish I could prove it.....................but last I heard he was doing a long stretch.
As you say
Sad bit of this story is that my girlfriend died in a bike crash about 12 months later. Totaly unrelated to the theft/break in.

toad cargo - i thought I was having a bad day but that puts it into context. - sorry to hear that.
As for the Pikeys - they returned last night - better tooled up this time but the defences held out although they took a bit of damage. So took a day off work and have spent it beefing up the defences. Additional anchors / chain/ wire / strong backs etc etc. Weekend will be alarm system and more lights. Ho hum - would be nice to spend all this time working on the bikes.
Police eventually showed this evening. Their view was that the race van was acting as a "magnet" for the Pikeys. The good news tho is the van is acting as a very imovable barrier to the main garage doors. The whole deal reminds me of the house scene in "I am legend" when they find out where Will Smith lives - I will soon be holed up in my garage - me and the dog

Get some Almax Chains and matching ground anchors.
Stuff aint going anywhere without some serious and noisey gear to remove it.
http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/
See vid of them croppping some very expensive chains in seconds... then watch the almax
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bZMvrPo34g
http://www.torc-anchors.com/security-chains.php
Torc Anchors also sell the Protector Chain thats also as good as the almax, but they also do some great wall anchors and shackles and shed related stuff.
Make sure you use a SS65CS
