I haven't actually read any of the posts in question, but I'd hazard a guess they are probably posted by spambots rather than human beings. Shouting at them won't do anything. Disabling guest posting as you have done ought to make a difference.

well i work 24 hrs to keep this forum in order, but banning ip addresses every 2 feckin mins takes the piss hence stopping guests posting for the time being, feckin tossers, looking into security posting such as image verification.

Like I said, they're mindless bots set running by some evil money making bugger who doesn't give a toss about the amount of time you spend sorting this out for us.
I reckon you'll have done a lot by stopping guest posting - it's one thing writing a script to reply to forum threads, but more of a job writing one to register, login and post. It might inconvenience some people, but not much. It will certainly stop the huge number of 'sorry that was me above' posts from people forgetting to login!
If it comes to the point where you need image verification, I'm sure someone on the phpBB forums will have come up with a solution. My blog got infested with a load of spam comments a while back so I had to do something similar - and sure enough there was an answer on the Greymatter forums already. Some sort of human verification on registration, combined with no guest posting, and you are sorted without any inconvenience to people who are prepared to register.
Lastly, love the site and the forum. Don't let the monkeys grind you down.
