It's either ballast or you're punishing yourself by using a really hard seat!

ballast and balance are both involved..............and yes it was lead off a roof.
nothing to do with actually riding the bike more a maintainance issue made easier

sitting it on the back of the crankcases until head/barrels are off when engine's out on the bench? (stop it toppling forward?)
