Bike Shed security...

Post by beermaker »

I don't know about you lot, but my "garage" is less than secure!! So much so that you could probably break into it with a well aimed football..... I've done the usual security stuff (lots of padlocks, alarm, ground anchors, turn off the power so they can't use my own angle grinder to cut the chains, etc) but I was discussing this with a biking friend at work and he suggested an excellent deterrent to all but the most determined of scrotes......

A great big bloody yellow sign with black letters saying "WARNING! ASBESTOS!" :smt002

It wouldnt surprise me if they went in with face masks if they saw that, thieves take all sorts of risks for easy money.

There was a couple pikie brothers here who tried to have the metal out of an electricity substation for an old factory a few months back. They went in the factory to see if the electricity was on, they thought it wasnt.... One of them went into the substation to start cutting and grabbed 33KV, by the time the other one got inside to see what the huge bang was his brother was on the floor in flames.

Not usually, only my garage is made of timber and asbestos sheets! :smt003 lol!

We had some pikeys round here who got fried trying to nick the copper buzzbars out of a substation too - less pikeys to try and nick my stuff I say!
