Underseat

Post by saltire88 »

While doing rebuild of bike today I noticed that there seems to be plenty of room to do an underset exhaust. Has anyone ever tried this.

not with much success ..

there's heaps o'room under the seat .. but how do you get there from below and to the side of the engine ? go round the swingarm, behind the rearsets (spaced out of course) and back in again ? yeh ! cos that'll look fantastic

maybe not.

I thought there were a couple of people on here that might have done it. I'm sure there was someone who done it which looked liked a duke! Ages ago there was a kit on eBay to do it but there was quite lot of modding the rear sub frame and it came round the back of the rearset and then up and around. I think aswell the battery box was modded it fit it in.

Found this in an old post - not the one I was looking for; there was a nice AMS one, I think, but can't find it. Anyway, this pic shows it can be done.

Cheers for that. I have loads of room as I have modified subframe, will take some measurements of End Cans.

Room there isnt the problem - it is how you get the link pipe around the swing arm without it looking like a piping engineers nightmare. If you can manage that then the rest is easy - you will need a cut out on the rear subframe to accomodate the link pipe to the can. Looks like a load of buggering about for no perormance improvement imo

Weve really got it all on this forum, havent we?

Its very do-able, but as always its the pipe routing.
