Re: set up
You need to roll them on more progressively, you cannot open flatslides like cv carbs, it's not necessarily a set up issue, sometimes you just need to "learn how to ride" with flatslides! Once you get it cracked you will love them!!!

Re: set up
Are you using a QAT? You need to use either the standard throttle or a simlar action as a QAT will pull the slides too quick and bog the motor.

Re: set up
A classic flatside problem is fuel bypassing the float valve seats via worn/perished O rings......................causes bogging down problems

Re: set up
Can you post a dyno fuel curve, & carb specs. These things are infinatly adjustable so you need to take note of,
Needle Code
Needle Clip position
Main Jet (Hex or Round) Size
Main Air Jet
Pilot Jet
Pilot Air Jet
Idle Screw Setting
Float level
Stack Length
Accelerator Pump Position
Engine Tune
Camshafts
Cam Timing
Exhaust System
CDI std or kit
Is the air solinoid still in use
There is really a lot to go through but they can be made to run really sweet.

Re: set up
had this bike for 4 years now. love the flat slides great power with them took me while to learn them in the first year . but since tuned the motor and put ram air air on it been nothing but problem s. bike got 0.5 over size pistons no base gasket all new shells mains and big. water pump no genny but starter . no oil cooler, it is a sp bike so came with flatslides. harness been chopped. at mo got 118 jets needles set at mid setting on all.
