Hi,
I have a grey import 1990 400 and she just won't start when hot. I have cleaned the carbs changed the spark plugs, flushed the coolant system. She rides lovely, but after she's been on for 30 mins to an hour ride, she either conks out and then just won't start (except for bumping)
Any ideas? This is the only problem with her
Thanks in advance.
Aron

Re: Hot Starting problems
never been able to figure this one out...............
I do have my air box wrapped in heat reflecting silver/ally tape
Also I have a heat reflecting cloth/foil shield to rty and keep hot air away from the airbox and HT leads
I do know that when hot bump starting is best so I suspect that the heat combined with using the starter moter causes some kind of voltage drop that weakens the spark........................best I've come up with
