What you think

Post by zxrob »

Had the 400 on the dyno the weekend

The fueling is way out, its set up as follows
dynojet needls (i think, with two clips on top setting)
Aftermaket exhaust (dont know what type) with art can
#96 main jets
pilot screw 2 1/2 (two and a half) turns out
no air filter or snorkel

I would of though if anything it would be running lean with that set up ????

Me mate who dynoed it said to check the float bowl first, check the needles and emulsion tubes and check if the slider holes had been drilled out, he also said he would have thoght the main jets would have been much higher but that would make it even richer

Forgot to add, bike also starts up without the use of the choke

Looks like someone has been fecking about with it

Right, all sorted now

Put some standard needles and slides back in, upped the main jets to 102, now running way way better

Dont know what state of tune your engine is but with my first ZXR I spent a lot of time try to get more out of the stock engine by playing around with the airbox and carbs.

The best set up came with a K&N filter in an otherwise bog stock airbox everything we tried with the airbox just killed it

59.9 ponies was all we could get.......................nothing more

The whole point of the kit is Dynojet have done the research & developement and no one else needs too :smt005

They also make the kits around, K&N filters so deviate away from them and they wont give the same results.

Time & time again I tell folks if you can spanner and follow isnstructions you can fit the kit yourself - its all there in the box. Any mods that need done are also detailed.

Dyno shops take an easy 100 quid off you for no reason - " It will need set-up " statement is a pile of BS , Dynojet tell you how to set up.

Buy , instal kit as described go to a free Dyno day shoot out and get print out showing all is running good - a hundred quid more to spend on fuel :smt003

Its been done :smt001
