Well the police have just been over and decided my brand new Dragon Supercorsa was illegal.... hmm.

Still, apparently I'm not getting done for that

I'm still unsure. They took it in for investigation and he said the only thing we found that was wrong with it was the front tyre was beyond legal limits... I pointed out it was barely scrubbed in and he said there wasn't enough tread round the side

most annoying thing is apparently i only clipped the cow and damaged it's leg and the farmer has said, and I quote, "prove it was my cow that caused the accident" despite the fact the police were called half an hour before my mishap to move it and ended up taking the details on the info tag thing attached to it.

Still, pick the bike up on Wednesday...

Also, the head injury turned out to be 3 cerebral edemas so god knows how i'm still here. I also caught bronchitis and my diabetes wasn't managed in ICU so i ended up DKA. I feel some form of law suit coming on...

Its entirely possible that the tyre got damaged in the fall and thats what they are refering to? Perhaps a chunk got taken out?

f*** the farmer, they care all about money and nothing else. From his point of view, hes already lost money on the cow being killed, he dont wanna loose any more paying out to you.

Plod can be headed off on the tyre bullshit issue by any decent specialised bike lawyer. Only needs a photo of a brand new tyre to prove 'they are all like that officer'. If they are approved for road use, end of. The relevant tread depth is what was there as moulded. I sometimes wonder about what sort of training they have.

Who's sorting this one out for you? It has all the makings of a long and convoluted issue with Farmer Giles using the lawyers of the NFU to, well, FU. I'd be wanting a specialised bike claim lawyer on the job. There's a few adverts in bike press. Think they do no win, no fee. I'd say this one is pretty cut and dried but you can often lose a case because you can't match the finances of the twat you're trying to sue, or your insurance decides to stitch you up by not pursuing. If you get one of those guys to take it on Mr Giles may decide it's game over and cough up.

The police are currently taking a statement from Mr Giles but have pretty much told me his insurance will pay out for this, but he may get taken to court and fined for being irresponsible with his livestock. Unfortunately I can't claim until the police finish their report and that isn't going to happen before the end of june.

Like I say, apparently they're not going to do anything about the tyre so it's not so much of an issue

Fixed it for you :D

When you do claim for the bike, injury, loss of earnings..... make sure you claim for loss of leisure time.
My mate had a non-fault off last year and got an extra 2 grand in loss of leisure time included in his payout.
Many insurers wont claim for it unless you instruct them to.

Rebuild it, no doubt.

Also, the front end is covered in cow hair so I finally have the proof that the 'cow caused the accident'

Nah, it's going back as it was. Got at least 3 months before the DVLA will let me drive again so it's gonna have some TLC
