Hi, Im Michael
I joined the forum not so long ago, as i was hoping to buy a zxr400, ive finally found one thats close to home but am not to sure, i haven't been for a look yet, but probably will do. I was just hoping some of you guys could give a bit of advice:
http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... p/79213772
Its had 4 Owners, Rear and front tyre are new, oil and filter changed recently along with brake pads, cam chain and tensioner.
really what i want to know is whether 25000miles is alot for a 2002 bike and whether its a good buy?
Thanks In Advance
Michael

Hi,
I would want to see receipts of the work that had been carried out.
25k isnt a massive amount of miles, but its a fair whack.
2grand for it? i dont think so.
This was built by a dude in here if i remember correctly
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/kawasaki-zxr400-c ... 0680303515
Dont be afraid of getting the train there and riding it back.

Thanks for the quick response, he's lowered the price although i still think he's asking way to much (£1795). would you expect anything else to have been done on the bike.....head gasket? carbs balancing??
the link you posted is that one you recommend?
Thanks
Michael

Put it this way guys.
It doesnt have to be immaculate.....
I have just bought a 1991 L1,
13000 genuine miles on the clock
All bearings replaced
All seals replaced
New tyres
New Chain and sproket
Head gasket done
Major service
New cam chain
New cam chain tensioner
11months mot
New pads all round
Fresh oil, and new filter
920 quid. + 9quid train ticket to wolves.
i did feel like a tit carrying a lid onto a train mind you lol.
