How dooooo from Bradford

Post by donkeybanana »

Eyup all

Just dropped a deposit on a Black L9 with only 3k on the clock for £2k. Going in for my Module 1 this week and Module 2 next week! Was riding a YZF-R125 for 2 years until some tw*t stole it last November, and have been eyeing up ZXR400s ever since.

Currently residing in Eccleshill, Bradford, but I frequent Glossop, Halifax, Rochdale and Leeds, and will soon be blessing said venues with my presence and hopefully joining some members of this forum on rideouts.

For my first question aboard this board (har har) what should I be wary of when picking up this model? I have glanced over the technical forums over the past months but my mind is like a sieve :( I plan on commuting 10 miles each way every day of the week, come rain or shine, but banking the bike when the temps drop too low - which hopefully won't be until end of November! Any and all help, trolling, name-calling and general greets appreciated.

A L9 with only 3K miles on it should be like new.....................it certainly should not have any serious mechinacial or electrical issues.....................might be worth checking to make sure nothing has siezed...........like brakes or side stand switch................. carbs might be gummed up with lack of use

Cosmeticaly it should be near perfect depends on how it's been stored...........look for crash damage

Thanks for the tips.

Dealer has all the mots so I reckon its legit, one lady owner etc so I'm thinking I've struck gold! Looking forward to tinkering with it, guess I can start with the carbs!
