If your tyres aren't scrubbed to the edges, then you're not using your bike's full potential.
Therefore the 'bravado' is that you've bought a sportsbike to try and look good, when in actual fact any old cruiser would stretch you to your limits.

If a bike is transport, I'd deffo get a cruiser every time.
In fact I probably will be getting one soon.
An old Jap v-twin, maybe a Guzzi.
Past experience tells me you need a sportsbike as well tho.

You say that but have you ever tried following a copper. they have chicken strips an inch wide but they are fast as!!!! and mostly they are on pan europeans!!Jamz wrote:If your tyres aren't scrubbed to the edges, then you're not using your bike's full potential.

I have no strips on the front tyre and about 1 cm on the back, thats as far as i go before the bike feels like its gonna have a fit, i've had the toe sliders down often too but i'm not overly fussed about it now. its good fun and all but i'd rather get round the roundabout than bin my bike for 1cm of rubber. i'll still get there fast.

Re: quot
if your getting your toes down and your peg isent tutching then you need to move you toes onto the peg more
Coppers are fast but its more down to taking a good line though the bend and using the power of the bike more
An experianced rider on a blade ect will woop there buts

Re: quot
That also means they could be going a lot faster!
You don't have to go fast to get your knees down anyway - I regularly do it at under 30mph! It's just about having the confidence to lean the bike over, and the body positioning to touch down.
