Riding comfort?

Hey all.

I've passed my test and im hungry to get a bike. I've been reading about the ZXR for ages and I love the styling on this bike it's really fantastic to look at. The only thing holding me back is the comfort level on this bike.

So my question is how comfortable is this bike to own and how long can you ride the bike before having to stop and take a break?

Well im 6'1" and i find it fine, my only complaint being the screen height being too low. Other than that its fine for me comfort wise. A member here, Jamz, used his for despatch riding!

they are fab mate just don't spoil it with a dubble bubble screen seriously i'd have another tommorrow if funds would allow, i don't care what anyone says the zxr400 has the looks to match the performance!

Well im going to be looking at a few ZXR's around the next weeks. I've wanted one of these for ages.

So nobody here has developed piles from their ZXR ? . Just curious if you could do a 2 hour stretch on it and still walk afterwards.

it really will depend, lots of people get on with different styles of bikes.

The seat is HARD though, but you could always get it re-foamed and a gel pad put in, or just strap one of the gel pads ontop of it if it was that much of a discomfort.

They really are fantastic little bikes though....

In my experience you are better off with a bike thats slightly too small than one slightly too big ..

Knees can be stretched in the saddle, elbows and shoulders, lower back all get knotted up and nasty if you are having to reach for the bars on a big bike.

ZXR is much comfier than any Ducati or even the ZZR600/1100.

did 8 hours on mine when i had it with no probs and i'd say i'm about 5ft 12"

coming back from bedford , think it was 170 miles ish I had to stop after abit because the seat was too hard

I sometimes rode mine for up to 9 hours a day, and it was only the last 30 mins or so that I started to feel uncomfortable!

No, I didn't get piles, either!

I think you get used to whatever bike you ride. If you're coming from a Honda Goldwing, then you'll probably find the ZXR very uncomfortable at first, but you'll get used to it.

same did a 500 mile trip on mine and felt fine

the crosser's are alot nicer tho soke up the bumps lovely! shame about the vibrations tho

Well I've wanted one of these little bikes for ages and I couldn't stop myself. I went out and baught a 2001 black ZXR with Datatool alarn and data tag for 2.2k from a dealer.

Im picking it up later this week, im getting more excited than a pedophile in an orphanage. Mhh.. maybe that's not very pc lol.

Anyway if my butt gets sore from the riding it will be worth it anyway. Thanks for the nfo guys, il let ya know how i get on.
