Carb icing?

Post by zxr_oli »

Receintly by bike has been running like a tractor, but it only happens when i leave work (10.30pm) after about 10 min of riding.
It is defo a fuel problem, so i was thinking it could be carb icing?
I have never experianced carb icing before so i just wanted to check :smt001

could be carb icing.. does yours have carb heaters ? if not they do work, get some UK spec carbs and plumb them in.

other possibility is a knackered o-ring /float valve causing the carb(s) to flood a bit

Havnt got carb heaters, as far as i'm aware.
Only happens at night, so wouldnt have thought it would be the floats.

Will give some of that a try.
Spose it would be difficult to fit carb heaters?

you'd need a set of uk (or other, but with the heaters) carbs (import ones dont have the passages for em) then some rubber pipe, and a couple of T pieces. so that you can plumb them in to the cooling system... its fairly simple.. done the same thing on Emma's ZX-4 as that suffered really badly a couple of winters back.

Bought some Wynn's Dry Fuel.
It says empty entire contents into tank, but i assume this would be for a car? (325ml)
How much should i put it?

I think my 7R is from france, some of the writing on a badge on the frame appears to be french.

what makes you think that? does it translate to "surrender whenever possible"
