Hello all.
Does anybody know if the zxr shares its clutch with any other model? or have the ability to find out or point me in the right direction or part numbers etc..?
Im after a DP clutch plates/steels and spring set ya see. They dont make em for the zxr( might be soon,im told??)
But they do make em for lots of other kwaks..They are very good im told, no slip probs.

this comes very highly recomended by me. Fitted them to my 750 as the standard clutch couldent take the extra power and this ones done a hand full of track days and alot of road riding without any slippage

make sure you change the drive plates at the same time!

Re: zxr share clutches with any other model?
Thanks guys...I know ya can get ebc ones, and the 'race' ebc kits..... Im after a dp kit, used to be called dunlop, just dp now. They are a more heavy duty than the ebc ones, and take more stick.
They supply em for most kawasaki's ,,just not the 400. Ive tried the early 6r and 750, but they have different clutches.
Ive notice the klr250 uses the same model ebc plates as the zxr..just not sure if the steels or springs etc woul line up

Re: zxr share clutches with any other model?
Jake, as you're aware I've been racing a ZXR400 for a few years now. As far as I'm aware no one uses EBC over the standard plates. I've always used a standard clutch and never had any problems, and thye're cheaper than the aftermarket ones. Never had any clutch slip until they were worn when replacing them cured the problem.
Also, this problem has occured to me and a few people I know, be aware that the rivettes holding the back part of the clutch together can wear and break(due to age of bikes now). This will start showing itself as clutch slip, and will either cause rapid and complete failiure, or in my case, lasted 4 or 5 days with just the slipping getting worse until I found the problem. This was the reason that I replaced the plates as they oerheated and wore very quickly, not through normal use.
Hope that helps
