I've been having real problems with them so got a second hand pair. I can fit them no probs
boy do I need to do anything else other than bolt the new ones on and away I go?

I also need new throttle cables anyone have any idea how much and where to get them?

I recently changed the carbs on my 1990 H2, for a much later set off a late L model,
and the only thing that needed swapped, was the main jets.
Pilot screw settings should be checked to match the settings for your model too.

depends wether the bike is original or not and wether it has been dynojetted?? cables are about £18 each from cradley.

Well all fitted bike starts fine and all looks good. The only problem is it still has the same sodding problem revs haning at 2k ish then dropping back down to tick over when it feels like it.

Any suggestions?

sounds like an air leak somewhere. did you take off the trumpet things that are actually on the head? you might have an air leak round there somewhere.

As parby sez, check that they are seated in the rubbers good, and there are no splits in the rubbers. If all good, and she is still doing it, its because its too lean on the pilots.
On the race zxrs ive messed around with (pretty much standard, full systems, no filters,sp cams), they both needed 4 turns out on the aircorrector screws, or the revs just wont drop fast, and hang like your one is doing. The manual sez something like 1.5, but that just was'nt close.
turn them all in, then 2 turns out, try it. then go for extra half turns untill its how you want it.
the last time on the dyno, 4 turns out was spot on for my bike up to a slight rich spot mid.

Thanks for the advice I will chck the inlet trumpets, I've got 3 sets of carbs and just cleaned through a couple and made (fingers crossed) a decent set, Ive changed some bad diaphrams over for good ones cleaned jets etc. One set had 96 in the other 97, one set of needles looked very different and tapered in in very sharp stages so taken them out and put the 96's in with standard needles.

So with a bit of luck will get it sorted.

With regards to the screws and turning them in can anyone post a pic?

dunno what they call them, mixture screws sound good.
if your sat on the bike mate, the screws are at the back of the carbs, underneith the float bowls. Turn them in all the way clockwise, make a note of how many turns out they where. presuming there is no airleaks, and the carbs are clean and runnin ok, turn the screws anticlockwise 2 full turns each. and go from there dude

Sorry if I'm beeing thick but are you talking about the screws right on the bottom of the float bowls that need an allen key?

no mate. they are a flat small screw driver job. Not attached to the float bowl, they are set back in a cylinder like casting. they are difficult to get at whilst the carbs are on the bike, i normally take the carbs off.

the allen key one drains the float bowls of petrol!!!
