Re: only in first gear holding back now
Errrr, not very descriptive, if your after help your gonna have to fill us in with a bit more than just jumping in without any run up to whats going on. My guess would be over fueling, like everything always boils down to, dunno why people have so much problem, carbs done change themselves!
If its crap in first gear only thats most likely due to the engine being under the most strain in this gear, it revs up quicker and the throttle is snapped open quicker, try riding about with the throttle almost closed and opening it a fraction more as you gain speed and revs, thatll help determine if its too rich because instead of WOT itll run off the idle system upto around 1/4 throttle opening, which should be enough to get to 20/30mph, or just snap open the throttle full and it should bog or die instantly. If it does, then your problem is over fueling, if you wanna try and verify it then you can use the choke, open the choke a little, then try/start to pull away, if the bike is already too rich then opening the choke will make it excessively rich and itll cut out, if the revs improve and you get more power then its too lean. But itll defo be too rich if its just 1st gear as the other gears already have the engine moving as is under less strain etc so youll be using less throttle.
That should tell you whats wrong, come back to me when you done that and well work on sorting out the result and rectification!
