Re: My other bike
I find it quite sad that I'm now out of the loop enough with mountain biking that I don't recognise half those parts...

Re: My other bike
Sounds like head tube bearings, play all round in a 360 in the head tube where the stem goes through?

hs33's are badass brakes if you get them set up right they flex the frame on nearly every bike.rover220 wrote:magura hs33 front and rear, marzocchi bomber forks. needs the stem bearings or something doing, forks move about loads.
you just need to tighten the headset, undo the two stem bolts (the one's on the rear of the stem) then tighten the bolt on the top of the forks if you hold the front brake on and rock the bike you can tell if it needs to go tighter, then do up the two bolts and it should all be good.

have brake boosters on the maguras, shooter frames are weak as it is and will split the welds.

I used to be a cycle mechanic and that's a nice 'rig'. Good to see you flying the Hard Tail flag too. I've never believed in full sus. Are they 24" wheels?
I recommend a FSA bash guard for your front sprocket - it survived so many punishing blows and stalls. Best bit of kit I've ever used.
I used to have a GT Ruckus but sold to help fund my Aprilia RS125. Wish I still had it as it's best exercise machine you can get, especially if you live near some trails. I've noticed a my fitness plummet since selling it so I've recently dug out an old Raleigh...

Re: My other bike
I was a Kona Owna. 2004 Shred, in matte blue. By god it was broken so many times, and each time I just meticulously collected the bits, kept them as souveniers, and scrounged till I could afford new parts...
Sold it to fund the Vitesse. Don't think I really regret it.
