HoooOww MuuCchhh!!!!

Post by Gemini »

had a thought yday when scott221 told me how much cradley kwak wanted for a full set of caliper seals...

and also the other wk when they said £285 for one side fairing! :smt017

how much do u think it would cost to build a zxr400 from the ground up using a genuine parts supplier like cradley for everything?

i think the zxr400 was around £6,000 brand new for the last one?...

so how much more do ya reckon???

there spare parts they'll always cost a lot. After all kwack are storing parts for years and years (expensive) so they need to make money when they sell them, its a bussines after all.

always the same with spare parts, we charge 2 - 3 times more if someone wants a spare.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

I remember reading a few years back that the latest GSXR1000, costing under £9000 could be broken for parts for approx £35,000! shocking

Hardly surprising why so many people break brand new bikes...

Im just glad i dont own a Honda, somthing like 3 times the price of kwack/suzuki spares iirc.

But of course thats because Hondas are so well built and the fact that you can buy spares is pointless as hondas never brake.

The VFR 750's rarely break (other than the fairings :smt003 ), but when they do it makes up for it!

My my rear wheel bearing ate itself at the end of last year just the bearing hub for the single swingarm was well over £400 without VAT, and was about a 2 month wait from Honda Japan!!! shocking

Goodridge and HEL brake lines are what usually around £60 a set...

i go to Pirtek near me and pick up hose and fitments and can get me brake lines for about £20 and under for a full bike. same toad with bearings, will i buggery buy OE bearings when theres a bearing manufacturer on the industrial estate and a tenner will get me two rear wheel bearings.

The trouble with having an open mind, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
