oil light and no start!

HI ALL...have been out twice on bike all was fine..went to start today oil warning light is on and it wont start at all. checked oil level and all seems fine..loads etc. any ideas? oil pump..??? am fairly new to biking and any help would be cool !! cheers!

the oil light wont go out until the bike is running because when its not running there in no pressure.

not sure on the no starting tho, stupid question probly but u sure theres fuel in it (not sayin ur a div or anything!)?

does it turn over and not start or just do nothing?

have full tank of petrol and it does nothing at all, oil light on red and no response from bike when attempting to start.

Flat battery ?.....................or side stand switch?

Is the kill switch (red switch on right handle bar ) turned to on ?

Is the green neutral light on.............................like have you left it in gear ?

OH DEAR....side stand cut off....i had forgot that one....new bikers eh? thanks am now brighter than a man utd top....it now goes with stand up !!! thank ye..yours in complete shame!! celtbhoy!

it happens to the best of us, i never use the kill switch so when some funny bugger turns mine off i spend ages wondering why the bugger wont start.

we have all been there mate, but just before we all move away form the subject, it should still start with the side stand down right, the only reason it shouldn't is if its in gear or you put it in gear it will cut out. am i wrong?

Yep thats right. I remember when I connected my sidestand switch for the first time after not having one, then wondering why it kept cutting out when i tried putting it in gear!

my old 500 kept doing that it confused the tits off me, but the rentboy that had this bike before me has pulled the switch off and i keep forgeting to put the sidestand up OOPS i really shud reconect it!!
