Having taken the carbs of the bike and sorted all the engine, it seems the whole runnning crap below 4k revs was my fault
I'd managed to put one of the tapered needles and holder that sit in the diaphragm in the wrong way round. Hence that needle was constantly open and flooding the cylinder with petrol. Only when the engine got going on full beans was this the right amount of petrol. Hence it worked great up high, but shite down low.
Well thats all sorted, and in cleaning the carbs out, there was a couple of hairs in the jets. They can't of helped either.
So now i will keep riding her to work just to keep an eye on anything unusual!!!
By the way, does anyone know what water or oil look like in petrol? When i drained the carbs, there was small white globules floating in the bottom of the petrol that had been drained. Any ideas anyone?
